Madhang Majok Meen has reaffirmed his commitment to engaging communities across the state on peace, security and stability, saying community consultations are essential to strengthening security measures and protecting lives and property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The governor made the remarks during a community engagement in Wulu County, where he held consultations on peace, unity and security with local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Madhang commended the Beli community for what he described as its exemplary peaceful coexistence with neighboring communities, particularly its hospitality toward members of the Falata community who are residing in parts of Wulu County as mobile pastoralists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Falata community reportedly migrated to South Sudan as refugees following the outbreak of conflict in Sudan and have since settled in parts of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of his visit to Wulu County, Governor Madhang also launched a mango tree-planting initiative under the state government&#8217;s program to promote tree planting and fruit production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative is aimed at supporting food security, improving livelihoods and promoting environmental conservation across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The governor also inspected a health facility in Wulu, where he urged medical workers to serve patients diligently and ensure proper diagnosis and treatment of illnesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Beli Community and former National Minister of Interior, Gen. Solomon Mamhuod Deer Agok, commended the state government for its engagement with local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He urged members of the Beli community to support government policies aimed at improving their future, including encouraging young people to join the army, police and other organized forces to contribute to the country&#8217;s security and defend the nation against external aggression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Acting Commissioner of Wulu County, Abednego Digur Makuac, said about 103 mango trees had been planted as part of the initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said the project would contribute to environmental protection, help address the effects of climate change and improve local livelihoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Makuac called on residents to embrace tree planting and fruit production, saying the initiatives could help protect the environment while strengthening food security and household incomes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lakes State Governor Gen.
