He highlighted agricultural mechanization, climate-smart practices, and seed modernization as key areas where the ministry is seeking Russian support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Juma also emphasized the urgent need to adopt agro-processing systems to mitigate the severe risks posed by the ongoing dry spell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ambassador Kosmodemiyanskiy underscored the importance of strengthening corporate cooperation between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He mentioned an existing draft agreement on cooperation between South Sudan and Russia, which will provide a crucial legal framework for bilateral trade and investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He announced that a Russian business delegation would visit South Sudan next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The delegation is expected to engage in discussions on investment opportunities across various sectors, including agriculture, infrastructure, mining, fertilizer production, and agricultural product processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">South Sudan and Russia established diplomatic relations shortly after South Sudan gained independence in July 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russia formally recognized South Sudan&#8217;s independence on July 11, 2011, with diplomatic relations established on July 22, 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russia was represented at South Sudan&#8217;s independence celebrations in Juba by Mikhail Margelov, who conveyed a message from then-President Dmitry Medvedev to President Salva Kiir.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>South Sudan and Russia are seeking to strengthen bilateral cooperation in agriculture, capacity building, and investment as they explore opportunities to expand economic ties.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":417,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_tdlc_coverage_id":0,"_tdlc_timeline_at":"","_tdlc_timeline_label":"","_tdno_assigned_editor":1,"_tdno_approval_notes":"","_thedawn_video_url":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[3,49],"tags":[38],"class_list":["post-416","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-national","category-news","tag-following"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.5 -
