The proposed Akhon International Airport to be built in Warrap State will transform the infrastructure and economic development in Warrap State upon completion.

The Warrap State minister of information Wol Mayom said that Akhon International Airport will not only boost the economic development and also provide job opportunities for the youth.

The national government contracted Wun Koc Company to construct the first modern hospital in the state.

“Akhon International Airport will generate income to citizens of Warrap, because every international airport should establish custom department that generates revenue,” Mayom told The Dawn on Tuesday.

He said priority will be given to people of Warrap State when it comes to recruitment of staff.

Mayom said the runway of Akhon International Airport will cover 4 km radius, adding that it’s terminal will be equivalent to the terminal at Juba International Airport.

The proposed Akhon International Airport is located in Gogrial West County.
