President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Thursday departed Juba for Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh to attend the First Saudi-African leaders’ summit due to be held on Friday 10th November 2023.
The Presidential Press Secretary Lily Adheiu is quoted in a statement issued on the presidential press unit Facebook page, to have said the summit seeks to identify fields for cooperation, build a common vision through knowledge-sharing and experiences while identifying projects and frameworks for improving bilateral and multilateral ties between Saudi and African countries.
It added that the discussion at the summit will revolve around supporting joint action, enhancing political coordination, addressing regional security threats, facilitating economic transformation through research and the local development of new energy solutions, while bolstering cross and sectoral cooperation.
The summit called by King Salman bin Abdulaziz is aimed at strengthening political, economic and social cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the African continent.
The President is accompanied to the summit by a number of cabinet members as well as other relevant government functionaries.
