"We Dare where others fear"

The governments of South Sudan and Ethiopia are going to review the agreement on the construction Paloch, Mathinag Mawut and Pagak road projects.
Michael Makuei Lueth, the national minister of information, communication, technology and postal services, said the agreement that was earlier this year signed between the two neighboring countries had loopholes.
“This agreement was not presented to the cabinet, and after thorough deliberation the cabinet found that there are observations in the agreement, and as such it was passed with reservations,” Makuei told journalists last week in Juba.
He said that the ministers of finance, justice and constitutional affairs, roads and bridges and petroleum have been instructed by cabinet to revise all the reservations with their Ethiopian counterparts.
Makuei disclosed that after the two sides have revised the agreement it will then be presented to the transitional national legislative assembly for rectification.
He added that the road projects cannot be implemented if the earlier loopholes within the agreement reached between the two countries are not dealt with.
“We are waiting for the government of South Sudan and the Ethiopian government to review the agreement, so that it comes out in an acceptable form to the parties and after which it will be implemented,” Makuei said.
