There is no doubt that the mind is the only power that each and every one of us possesses, and if it is utilized properly and up to the maximum, we can make major achievements in various areas, regardless of our race, ethnicity, gender, colour, religion, region, language or social background.

The power of mind depends on the way each and every individual uses it. So, if it is not activated and only kept inactive by the individual, its effectiveness and magnitude remain hidden, unseen and ineffective.

The mind starts to evolve at a very early age, and grows gradually as the new-born grows, and begins to receive information from the environment where he/she is.

The being that owns the mind starts to receive the information from the parents, members of the family and the surrounding environment including the learning institutions. That is why it is imperative for the parents to engage the child at a very young age, when he/she starts to talk.

The parents must start talking to the child once he/she starts talking and engage his/her mind by exposing him/her to learning – starting with listening, talking, writing and reading.

This young mind should also be encouraged to ask questions in various areas. In this case, his/her parents must be well informed and they should be ready to answer the questions with correct answers.

Hence, their general knowledge on all aspects of life including its meaning, faith, death, sciences and the universe must be up to date.

In order for us to be able to produce great minds, we the parents or scholars, must be good readers. We must demonstrate our love for knowledge and information, and this requires us to read widely in a variety of fields.

We must encourage the freedom of thinking, including critical thinking and emphasize the importance of knowledge and the greater need to seek it, and also share it with others. For it is knowledge that makes the mind powerful.

One of the most important powers of the mind, is not only the power of storing the information, but also the power of imagination and the power of creativity. The power of imagination takes us further beyond time and places.

The mind does not know barriers based on time or places. It surpasses all this.

So, information, knowledge and imagination are the exercises that take place in the mind. These are what stimulates our minds to think. Information, knowledge, and perhaps experiences, are what enables the mind to have a better understanding of what it engages in, and therefore, takes a better decision that could lead to a desired result with minimum consequences.

All these scientific and technological achievements including going to the space, reflect the power of the mind and the power of imagination. They stand as evidence of the power of mind. They are products of the power of imagination of human mind.

These achievements in various areas are evidence of what our minds can achieve. Imagine these planes that travel from one country to another – and from one continent to the next one – going through a limitless sky, yet they reach their destinations!

Imagine the great advancements in the areas of medicine, and all other complicated fields of sciences! Imagine the explorations that are being carried out in the space by the astrophysicists!

To conclude, the mind is the only universal power that can benefit all humanity and our earth, especially if it is used up to the maximum and in a positive way.

In order to have a formidable mind, one must necessarily, be consistent, disciplined, inquisitive, imaginative and dedicated to knowledge. And this means that one must read extensively and think seriously.

Also, in order to have a powerful mind, one must embrace critical thinking, logic and scientific enquiry.

So, having such a power – a power of mind – is a personal decision, and to some extent, the environment that we are in, plays a certain role. For it is within the mind (laboratory), where all the exercises and decisions that we take, almost on a daily basis, to transform our lives and the environment we are living in, take place, before we translate them into a living reality.
