Santo Malek, secretary for political affairs, mobilization and organization for the SPLM who was among the 20 SPLM cadres, said attended training on how to build the party and cadres.

“We toured around Beijing and some areas in China, we have seen a lot of things, we want to talk to our ministers specifically the minister of trade, it has come a time now for us to do something or sign an agreement with the Chinese government because as SPLM and the South Sudan government we cannot rely on oil,” said Malek during press conference held in Juba on Wednesday.

Malek also added that they gained knowledge and experience from the Chinese Communist Party.

“We were invited by the CPC and we shared the experience, skills and knowledge on issues to do with development and poverty alleviation,” he said.

Malek said that the government of South Sudan needs to engage with the government of China to allow export of Gum Arabic, simsim and honey.
