"We Dare where others fear"

The Cardinal of the Catholic Church in Juba Dr. Stephen Ameyu Martin Mulla on Wednesday called on South Sudanese to forgive one another during this festive season.
His Eminence Ameyu made these remarks in his Christmas message delivered at a press conference held in Juba.
“As we celebrate Christmas, let us not forget the true meaning of this season-love, forgiveness and peace,” said Ameyu.
“Let us extend a hand of friendship to our neighbors, reach out to the vulnerable in our communities, embrace diversity as source of strengthen,” he added.
Ameyu said that by forgiving one another first and embracing dialogue and reconciliation, relationships can be regenerated.
“May this Christmas be a time of reflection, gratitude and hope. Let us cherish the progress we have made and let us look towards the future,” he said.
The first-ever South Sudanese Cardinal urged the citizens to reject violence and embrace peace and unity.
“Together, we can build a South Sudan where every citizen can prosper, where justice and equality prevail, and where peace regions supreme all parts of the country,” he said.
Ameyu said that the 2018 peace deal has provided platform for dialogue, reconciliation and healing.
He further explained that the revitalized peace agreement have enabled the country to address the root causes of divisions paving way for South Sudanese to work together for sustainable peace.
“We are ending this year on hopeful note, with slow but significant strides made in the implementation of the peace agreement,” Ameyu said.
“The establishment of unified transitional government, formation of reformed security sector, and the progress made in resolving key outstanding issues are all testaments to our collective commitment to peace,” he added.
The cardinal urged parties to the revitalized peace agreement to remain steadfast in their dedication to peace process ad continue to build trust, foster dialogue and promote inclusivity.
“The road ahead may not always be smooth but with unity and determination, I believe we can overcome any challenges that may arise,” he said.
