The former governor of the defunct Twic State Atem Madut Yaak has called on South Sudanese to respect exploits of liberation heroes such as President Salva Kiir Mayardit and Kerbino Kuanyin Bol Deng.

He said the commitment of the liberation heroes paved way for the independence of South Sudan in 2011 after harrowing battles with the enemy forces backed by the Sudanese regime.

“Let us not forget those who liberated us from marginalization, we are now  free having our own country  and what we need is peace, unity and  love among ourselves as South Sudanese to promote development,” said Madut during his Christmas message in Juba.

He said that the country will not develop without peace and development.

Madut called on South Sudanese to end tribalism and prejudice in order to unite the country.
