The Governor of Lakes State Gen. Rin Tueny Mabor on Wednesday called on warring communities of Twic and Dinka Ngok to end hostilities and embrace peace.

Mabor made this call during a political rally held in Kuacjok town of Warrap State.

“Stop fighting, since Twic and Ngok started fighting, people have scattered, you don’t see people at home because conflict scattered people and kill people,” said Mabor in a video clip seen by  The Dawn.

He stressed the need to enforce law and order in a bid to restore peace and stability in Warrap and Abyei Administrative Area.

The two communities disputed ownership of land located in Aneet area.

“We will order the police and the army to enforce the order until you accepts it and those in the bushes, we tell them to stop what they are doing, there should be no war anymore,”  said Mabor.

“We will enforce the order so that those people who are destroying the state are dealt with; bring out those destroying the state so they are removed out for the safety of the people,” he added.

Mabor reiterated his readiness to support his counterpart in Warrap to restore peace and order.

“When we are done with this rally, we will start work with Muor Muor. I will stay with him because I have worked with Aleu and he has done his part and I also worked with Brig. Gen. Manheim Bol Malek, and he has also done his part,” he said.

Mabor cautioned soldiers against taking sides in the conflict between Twic and Abyei people.

“Those who are killing people in Abyei and Twic are Abyei Brigade and they are members of national army. Men in uniform are the one killing their own people. We don’t put on uniform to kill civilians,” he said.

“Leave them for us, if you are a civilian move to the right hand side and if you are soldier return to the army and if you are a criminal listen to me and move to the right, we don’t need people to turn left and right,” Mabor added.
