The newly appointed Warrap state Governor Kuol Muor Muor has decided to relocate his office under a tree around the state government secretariat.

Muor has been addressing his cabinet and other staff under the huge tree  in the Secretariat General  at Majak Amal.

He has been assuring his cabinet that they will continue to operate under the tree until the construction of General Secretariat starts.

The existing State Council of Ministers General Secretariat belongs to the State Ministry of Cooperative and Rural Development.

The Minister of Information and Communications William Wol Mayom told The Dawn that the motive behind the decision of the Governor to operate under the tree is to encourage the company that signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the government to speed up the construction of the secretariat ahead of the rainy season.

“Of course this is his objective since he came to Warrap State, he said it at a public rally at freedom square in Kuacjok that he is going to relocate to  the previous secretariat general , we had  land for the government secretariat general which is 320 by 150  meters , so this secretariat  has never been developed,  nothing has been done on it and it is the secretariat general for the government but temporarily the previous Governors  decided to take the Ministry of Cooperative and Rural Development in Warrap   state and that office is very small,” said Mayom.

He added that the Governor wants to build the secretariat general, adding that’s when he will shit his office under the tree.

He said that the Governor has already brought in a team of engineers from Sabina Investment Co.Ltd to start construction of the Council of Ministers General Secretariat at Majak Amal starting on 15th January 2024.

He said that the Governor will be operating under the tree to encourage the company to complete the work before the rainy season.
