"We Dare where others fear"

The government revealed on Wednesday that it will soon start rehabilitating major roads within Juba city to reduce traffic congestion.
Dr. Bak Barnaba Chol, the National Minister of Finance and Planning said on Wednesday that the infrastructure projects under the auspices of President Salva Kiir Mayardit will include expansion, rehabilitation and construction of roads around the city.
“We have been instructed by H.E the President together with authorities and the government of Central Equatoria to work together to make sure the internal roads of Juba city are renovated, rehabilitated, constructed and put in order,” said Chol during press conference held in Juba.
He said the construction of new roads within Juba city will start with the launch of the project.
“We are looking forward to working with you to make sure our people in Central Equatoria get the services they deserve and they live a dignified life in accordance with the aspiration of the national economy conference,” said Chol.
Emmanuel Adil Anthony, Governor of Central Equatoria State said that people within the road reserves should vacate within 72 hours from today.
“Any individual who has constructed his house in the road reserve you are kindly given 72 hours to go and start removing those infrastructures because the committee has been formed and instructed to go and start removing these structures because we want to start the work,” said Adil
He also warned people who have started encroaching on the road reserve to stop.
“People have developed a habit of even coming to create a market on roads and I think this one is unacceptable, we have places that are designated for markets and we advise that these hawkers or sellers should be able to go and sell in a very conducive environment where they can be access,” said Adil.
Other senior officials who attended the press briefing cinluded, the presidential special envoy Bol Mel, the Governor of the Bank of South Sudan James Alic Garang and the minister of roads and bridges Simon Mijok Mijak.
