South Sudan was already struggling with a huge humanitarian crisis with over 2 million people displaced due to climatic changes. The economy of South Sudan is in dire distress and yet it has to provide services and protection thousands of the new arrivals.

The international community has a responsibility to support South Sudan with funds and humanitarian support to help it mitigate the prevailing humanitarian crisis.

Unfortunately, the focus of the international community is on Gaza and Ukraine and yet South Sudan too deserves urgent support from it.

The Chinese government should be commended for providing not only huge quantities of food but also 8808 tents to support returnees and Sudanese refugees in South Sudan. The other foreign countries need to follow China’s lead and also do the same, because sickness and hunger know no race or particular people of this globe.
