The Lakes state minister for information Paul Ayang has praised Governor Rin Tueny Mabor for restoring peace and security in the once restive state.
Ayang said these remarks during the welcoming ceremony of Governor Mabor on Saturday in Rumbek.
Mabor was among the four governors summoned to Juba by President Salva Kiir to discuss ways of resolving the ongoing conflict between Twic community of Warrap state and Ngok Dinka of Abyei Administrative Area.
Ayang said that under the leadership of Mabor there has been reduction in cattle theft and cross border cattle raiding and violence.
In the past years armed youth from Lakes state used to raid cattle in neighboring Warrap and Unity state, but this has been addressed by Governor Mabor.
Anyang said that the state leadership has put it’s main focus on maintaining peace and security and also to support development activities and increasing agricultural production.
