Germany foreign Minister visits Juba to enhance bilateral relations

The Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Federal Republic of Germany, Annalena Baerbock has arrived in South Sudan on Friday to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.

 Ramadan M. Abdallah Goc, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation received Annalena Baerbock, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany during her visit to South Sudan.

Minister Baerbock’s visit aims to enhance bilateral relations and strengthen cooperation between the two nations.

According to the statement posted on the Facebook page of the ministry of foreign affairs, Baerbock will meet the leadership as well as visit the refugee camp, where she will personally witness the situation of Sudanese refugees who have sought shelter in South Sudan due to the ongoing conflict in Sudan.

For his part, Ramadan expressed his appreciation for Germany’s support and reaffirmed South Sudan’s commitment to collaborate with Germany to further strengthen and expand the bilateral ties between South Sudan and Germany.

South Sudan and Germany have maintained a strong bilateral relationship since the independence of South Sudan in 2011.

Germany has actively engaged in various development projects within the country, particularly in the fields of healthcare and vocational training centers.

Notably, Germany’s assistance in establishing a technical institute in Wau and other support through the GIZ organization have made significant contributions.
