South Sudanese not compatible with five vice presidents, says Governor Mabor

The Governor of Lakes state Rin Tueny Mabor on Thursday said that the country can no longer afford to have five vice presidents due to the economic cost that come with it.

The Governor of Lakes state Rin Tueny Mabor on Thursday said that the country can no longer afford to have five vice presidents due to the economic cost that come with it.

“The public of this country are tired of the five vice presidents,” Mabor said during the closure of the three-day training of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement youth cadres in Rumbek town.

The training undertaken by members of the SPLM national secretariat was aimed at preparing the youthful party members on campaign and mobilization strategies during the upcoming general election slate for December 2024.

Mabor urged the trainees to disseminate the skills acquired from the training to people in the counties and boma levels.

Kuol Atem Bol, Secretary for the SPLM caucus at the national secretariat said that the training covered more than ten topics such as propaganda, media, nepotism and tribalism and effective communication.

He said that the SPLM party is not looking forward to the extension of the current transitional period.

Ayar Deng Monywach, the national deputy chairperson for the SPLM youth league said the trainees were drawn from eight counties of Lakes state.

The SPLM state secretary Asunta Buoda James thanked the leadership of the SPLM in the state for funding all the activities of the party, adding that the training will prepare the youth and the country at large for the elections.

Chairman for the SPLM youth league Marial Abraham Makur appealed to the youth to remain vigilant and patriotic to the mission of the party.

For his part, Majok Arop Majok the SPLM chairperson of Rumbek Central County called on the party leadership to support party mobilizers with mobility services.

He applauded the state chairman of the party Rin Tueny Mabor together with the SPLM national secretariat for facilitating the training.
