"We Dare where others fear"

The national ministry of labor on Friday received 15 motorcycles from the International Labor Organization (ILO) to facilitate it’s officials in inspecting work places across the ten states and three administrative areas.
Mary Hilary, the undersecretary for the national ministry of labor said that the donation demonstrates the spirit of close cooperation between the ministry of labor and ILO.
‘We are witnessing the collaboration and cooperation that we have between the ministry of labor and the ILO, we are receiving support to boost labor inspection in South Sudan,” Hilary said.
Hilary revealed that two of the motorcycles will be based at the national ministry of labor and other 13 motor cycles will be dispatched to 10 states and 3 administrative areas.
“The availability of these motorcycles will improve labor inspection and thus the performance of labor in general, we are witnessing the signing agreement for the establishment of migrant resource center and launching of distance work country program,” she said.
Justin Jada Joseph, the director general for labor and industrial relation in the national ministry of labor said that the motorcycles will enable their staff to inspect conditions of work in private owned companies and organizations.
Agasio Akol Arop, a member of parliament representing trade unions said that the motorcycles will enable staff to establish the registration status of companies and also the living conditions of their employees.
Aida Awel, the chief technical advisor for International Labor Organization said that the motorcycles are intended for mobility which will increase the effectiveness of labor governance in the country.
“We are very happy and honored to be here for the signing of the implementation agreement for the establishment of the migrant resource center here in south Sudan and also to handover the motor bikes which we hope to improve labor inspection system in south Sudan,” Awel said.
