"We Dare where others fear"

The chairperson of Warrap State Youth Union Santino Wol Aguer has called on the transitional unity government to undertake comprehensive disarmament in Warrap and neighboring states.
This comes in the aftermath of clashes last week in Luacjang that involved armed youth from Lakes state, Unity State and Warrap State which left about 39 people killed and several others wounded.
“Civilians are dying on a daily basis due to illiterate armed youth holding unauthorized guns in the communities,” Aguer told The Dawn in an interview on Monday.
“We recommend comprehensive disarmament, not political disarmament that can help the innocent civilians live in peace,” he added.
Aguer said that communal conflict in Warrap state is rampant due to the presence of armed cattle keepers such as Titbaai or Gelweng.
He called on the national and state governments to disarm armed youth belonging to Titbaai and Gelweng.
Aguer said that Warrap State Youth Union is ready to train the youth on agriculture practices that can earn them money upon disarmament.
