"We Dare where others fear"

The Council of Ministers on Friday passed a budget of 713,104, 484, 559 billion South Sudanese Pounds (SSP) to facilitate the upcoming elections scheduled for December this year.
The Minister of Information, Communication, Technology and Postal Services Michael Makuei Lueth, said that the money is part of the supplementary budget for financial year 2023/24 requested before cabinet by Bak Barnaba Chol the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning.
“This is the amount he (Chol) expressed that the government will be in a position to meet during this time, it was passed and directed to be presented to the National Legislative Assembly for consideration,” Makuei told journalists after the weekly cabinet meeting in Juba.
Makuei said that the minister of finance informed cabinet that he will be in a position to avail budget of107, 484,012, 944 billion SSP in the 2024/2025 in July.
The upcoming election widely expected to be contested by President Salva Kiir and his First Vice President Riek Machar, present the best opportunity for the youngest nation to transition toward peace and stability after years of deadly conflict since outbreak in December 2013.
