The police force is conducting 3 months refresher training for 800 Non Commissioned Officers (NCOs) in Warrap State.

Maj. Gen Manyok Jurkuc, the Warrap State Police Commissioner on Tuesday said that the officers need to learn police laws because some of them were not trained in the first place.

“Some of them are retired soldiers and joined police, we are offering them refresher training and after training them we will deploy them,”   Jurkuc told The Dawn.

He appreciated the state government for it’s generous support for the training and reiterated that the training of police NCOs is expected to reach 1,200 in total.

The Acting Governor of Warrap state Aluel Garang applauded the trainers and trainees and encouraged them to adhere to the training ethics.

“We need well trained police to protect people and their properties and to bring stable security to Warrap State because people are dying on daily basis simply because we don’t have well trained police to protect the people in the communities,” he said.
