Abukloi secondary school commemorates 10th Anniversary in Lakes state

Abukloi Secondary School on Wednesday celebrated it’s 10th anniversary since it’s founding in Lakes State.

Abukloi Secondary School on Wednesday celebrated it’s 10th anniversary since it’s founding in Lakes State.

The Lakes State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Stephen Mathiang Deng Monydit during celebrations in Rumbek town applauded Nyang community for donating the land on which the school sits.

 He assured of the state government’s readiness to end forced and early child marriages in order to provide opportunity for girls to enroll in school.

The State Minister for General Education and Instruction Nelson Makoi Makur said that Abukloi Secondary School has ranked among the top performing schools in South Sudan.

“This school has delivered quality education in the state,” he said.

Makur promised that the state government will invest in quality learning in order to empower schools in the state to perform among the best in the country.

Mary Cassid-Anger, the President of Abukloi Secondary School Board of Directors appreciated the state authorities and the community of Rumbek Centre for donating land to build the school, adding this demonstrates the commitment of the people of Lakes State in promoting education.

Dr. Margaret Kutz, the former President of Abukloi Secondary School Board of Directors said that they have been able to operate the school with the support of the administration of Loreto Secondary School.

The Executive Director and founder of Abukloi Secondary School Angelo Mangar Maker thanked The Governor of Lakes State Rin Tueny Mabor for restoring peace and also the donors in the diaspora for supporting Abukloi Secondary School over the last ten years.

The Principal for Abukloi Secondary School Dr. Isaiah Thondit Mutalemwa said that the school was built with money allocated from the Constituency Development Fund in 2013.

 “This school has a farm to provide food and also this farm will also be a training ground for locals in sustainable agriculture,” Mutalemwa said.
