European Centre for Electoral Support willing to support upcoming elections

 The Vice President of the Strategic and Advisory Committee, European Center for Electoral Support Filiberto Ceriani Sebregondi on Tuesday confirmed their willingness to assist South Sudan in holding successful elections.

Sebregondi paid a courtesy visit to Dr. James Pitia Morgan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to discuss the preparations for the upcoming elections scheduled for December 2024.

Morgan expressed gratitude for Italy’s continuous support and discussed the special relationship between the two countries.

He emphasized the importance of the upcoming multiparty and democratic elections and welcomed any support from the European Centre for Electoral Support.

For his part, Sebregondi  expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and confirmed their willingness to assist South Sudan in holding successful elections.

The meeting was also attended by Dhano Obongo, South Sudan Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary & Permanent Representative to the UN/Rome Based Agencies.
