"We Dare where others fear"

President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Thursday directed the police to curb the high crime rate in Juba city in a bid to protect the lives and property of citizens.
“The criminals have become many and the crimes have risen to an extent the organized forces cannot manage and for that, the police must work hard,” Kiir said during a ceremony conducted at Dr. John Garang De Mabior Mausoleum in Juba.
He also ordered the police to provide security for citizens and ensure the protection of ballot papers during the upcoming December 2024 elections.
“We are going for election since the election is coming to the people who will have a lot of work are the police, the police must provide security of citizens and protection of ballots and protection of ballots boxes,” Kiir said.
Angelina Teny, Minister of Interior said that the police will train more cadets to assist in combating crimes in the country.
“These colleges are going to receive cadets, the colleges accredited already by Education Higher Education as institutions of higher learning. We will now be receiving candidates as they finished high school and those who also graduated from the Universities and want to join the police force and other organized forces,” Teny said.
“As soon as we complete phase two of unification, we will now be in the process of receiving cadets and this means, we will receive cadets and graduate cadets and we will also exit the older people in the organized forces,” she added.
