"We Dare where others fear"
The Central Equatoria State authorities have shut down 15 fuel stations which were found without property safety standards in Juba.
The mushrooming fuel stations within residential areas pose serious danger to the lives and properties of residents in case of fire outbreak.
The Central Equatoria State government made a mistake in allowing land owners to parcel out land in residential areas to fuel stations.
This shows failure to comprehend proper physical planning especially in Juba City Council. Fuel stations are supposed to be located distance from residential areas because of the danger they pose to lives.
In neighboring countries fuel stations are often located a distance away from residential areas. This was made due to unforeseen problems that could arise in case of fire outbreak.
It’s high time authorities in Juba City Council and in the Central Equatoria government to reverse the decision to build fuel stations adjacent to residential properties.
