The Chairperson of the Council of South Sudan National Bureau of Standards (SSNBS), Kuorwel Kuai Kuorwel on Tuesday urged the newly appointed Executive Director Gloria Nyoka Joseph to empower her colleagues to deliver effectively to the public.
“One of the most important things is to empower your staff, empower your colleagues so that they work because the work you are taking on now is a heavy job,” said Kuorwel during the reception ceremony of the new Executive Director in Juba.
“It involved a lot of administrative work where hundreds of people will come in, other people need money, other people are sick, the generator is off, the vehicle is broken down and somebody is arrested,” he added.
Kuorwel said work was easy for him over the last three months because he worked with a very strong team.
“So what I want to request from you (Nyoka) is to empower your colleagues, work with them and when you empower your colleagues it makes it easy.”
He reiterated the willingness of the Council for the South Sudan National Bureau of Standards to help the new Executive Director achieve her objectives.
“Whatever we do has to be done in accordance with law and some activities that we have been doing like the adoption of standards, some of that we have been doing at the top level,” said Kuorwel.
