Authorities to investigate attack in Wagich area that left 11 killed

The County Commissioner of Gogrial East County of Warrap State, Maluac Lueth Luac on Monday vowed to investigate the killing of 11 people during cattle raid in Wagich area by suspected armed youth from neighbouring Mayom County.

“As the Commissioner of Gogrial East County, I am committed to ensuring that justice is served and the perpetrators are brought to account, we will work closely with the relevant authorities of Mayom County to investigate this incredible incident,” said Luac in a statement.

On January 17, 2024, suspected cattle raiders from Mayom County of Unity State attacked Wagich area of Toch East Payam and stole 657 cows.

“It is crucial that we work together to find a peaceful solution to these issues, as such I urge all parties to remain calm and cooperate with the ongoing investigation, I assure that I will do everything in my power as Commissioner to ensure that justice is served,” Luac said.
