Turkiye Diyanet Foundation in collaboration with the South Sudan Muslim Scholars last week donated food packages to 10,000 Muslims fasting during the Holy month of Ramadan in Juba.

Erdem Mutaf, the Turkish Ambassador to South Sudan in a statement issued in Juba, said the food packages including cooking oil, beans, rice, and maize flour were handed over to Muslims, adding the assistance is a symbol of the Turkish people’s support and solidarity with the people of South Sudan.

This comes after the Turkish Embassy in coordination with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and Concern South Sudan donated last week food packages to displaced persons in Bilnyang.

The donation took place from 13- 16 March in five different areas in Juba.

Turkiye Diyanet Foundation provides annual assistance to Muslims during the month of Ramadan and Eid festivities in South Sudan.

In 2023, the foundation provided 2000 cows in Wau and 600 cows in Juba to feed needy people during Eid al Adha.
