The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has empowered the Resilience Organization to spread awareness of sexual reproductive health services across parts of Central Equatoria State.
Kevin Abalo, the Executive Director for Resilience Organization told The Dawn that the support from UNFPA has enabled them to promote and enhance sexual and reproductive health services in the communities.
“We are very much concerned with everyone, we have reached over 3000 people including young people and people with disabilities, we have started community outreach because a lot of people are still missing out on sexual reproductive health services,” said Abalo in an interview on Saturday in Gumbo-Shirkat suburb of Juba.
She disclosed that the campaign which kicked off on March 22, 2024, in Rajaf Payam of Juba County will last for 5 days across various Counties in the State.
“We have been working for over three years to end the myths and misconceptions about reproductive health services and family planning, we will be able to reach communities in a timely manner especially people of reproductive age,” Abalo said.
Abalo said that the campaign is driven to sensitize the community to adopt community-driven actions to promote reproductive health rights including adolescents, family planning and misconceptions about reproductive health.
“The main reason for engagement is to integrate community activities with sexual reproductive health information sharing targeting communities which will in turn help increase access to sexual reproductive health services,” she said.
Resilience Organization is a South Sudanese organization that offers training and workshops on sexual reproductive health, gender-based violence and advocacy on policy reforms.
