Government needs to find solutions to the ailing economy

The South Sudanese Pound continues to lose value against the U.S. dollar and other foreign currencies at an alarming rate.

This loss of value has discouraged the population from working hard because their profits and savings are going to waste.

The current exchange of the pound at 2300 to the dollar has left many households unable to put food on the table.The transitional government needs to find solutions to stabilize the fundamentals of the economy (macro-economic) that is interest rate, inflation and currency stability.The prevailing economic condition if unaddressed could see criminal- minded people resort to dangerous ways of survival.The government needs to also be cautious of it’s pre-election prospects because the average voter is aware of the worsening economic situation.The parties in the transitional unity government should pull on one side to work to address the current economic situation, instead of engaging squabbles over things such as defections and other trivial things.The common citizen is only hoping for tangible and realistic solutions from the government to improve the economy.
