The United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) on Thursday said revealed that 17 million square meters of land in the country is still filled with mines and unexploded ordnances.

Farmers in affected places in Central Equatoria, Upper Nile and Eastern Equatoria State are at risk of injuries or death due to these unexploded ordinances.

The government and UNMAS need to work together to remove and dispose off these dangerous items.
