Juba County registers zero crime during Eid al-Fitr holidays

Local authorities of Juba County in Central Equatoria State on Wednesday said that they registered zero crimes during Eid al-Fitr, the festival of breaking the fast that marks the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Local authorities of Juba County in Central Equatoria State on Wednesday said that they registered zero crimes during Eid al-Fitr, the festival of breaking the fast that marks the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

“Today, we paid a visit to our different police stations and the sectors which are under Juba County territory. We visited them to know about the security situation around Juba County,” Emmanuel Tete Ezbon, Commissioner of Juba County told journalists after inspecting police stations around Juba.

Ezbon visited Koba Police Post, National Security Sector, Gudele Central Police Station, Sector Five and Cleaners of Juba County to assess the security situation during the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.

He was accompanied by the Speaker of the Juba County Legislative Assembly, the Executive Director of Juba County and the Commissioner of Police of Juba County.

Ezbon donated 6 sheep together with cash to members of security organs including the cleaners of Keep Juba City Clean and Green to celebrate Eid al-Fitr.

“We gave them some orders to maintain security and we will also be there to communicate and coordinate with our security organs to protect or avoid any criminal activities within Eid al-Fitr,” he said.

David Pitia Jada, Spokesman of the Juba County Legislative Council said the security situation has been normal during Eid al-Fitr festival.

“Security is calm as people celebrate Eid al-Fitr without any problem or insecurity within Juba County,” Pitia said.

He said the inspection of security installations around Juba aimed at encouraging peace and stability in Juba County.
