Africa Resource Corporation (ARC) on Saturday unveiled the largest asphalt production plant in East Africa which will help support the construction of roads in the country.

The modern asphalt plant is located in  Bunagok Boma and the stone crushing plant in Ramciel in Awerial County of Lakes State.

Manong Zechariah, Project Manager of ARC said the asphalt plant in Bunagok is ready and awaiting commissioning.

“The plant is used for mixing concrete, 3 by 8 and 3 by4 aggregate and the soil to produce the concrete that we use for culverts,” Zechariah said.

He said the asphalt plant production capacity will cope with the growing demand for its materials.

“All these plants as you can see are very huge investments, and I can say whatever we are getting is not only going direct to the road, because the road can’t be done without asphalt plant and other big machines,” Zechariah said.

He disclosed that they have set up a culvert factory in Yirol for manufacturing culverts.

“In Yirol, we have a culvert factory whereby all these culverts we are using must be manufactured and then taken for installment,” Zechariah said.

He said the stone crushing plant installed in Ramciel has capacity to produce 7,200 tons per day.
