Students studying on scholarship at Juba Medical University on Sunday received 26 computers donated by Charity Foundation for African Catholic Mission (CFACM) based in the United States.
The computers were provided by by Father John Lee’s disciples.
In January 2024, Andy Yi, the President of CFACM USA visited South Sudan and conducted personal interviews with all scholarship students.
He expressed immense satisfaction with the decisions made by the board of directors after listening carefully to the needs of the students.
The scholarship recipients range from third-year medical students to those on internship programs and graduate students from various academic years.
They all aspire to emulate the love and dedication of Father John Lee and pledge to return to their hometown of Tonj after graduation to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to medical activities for the benefit of their needy neighbors.
Founded as a non-profit organization in Southern California in 2009, CFACM USA, has been consistently supporting scholarship programs, medical projects, and welfare initiatives in South Sudan.
Since 2020, they have been providing full scholarships to 26 medical students studying at Juba Medical University, Upper Nile University and Bahr El Ghazal University.
There are 16 students enrolled in Juba Medical University, 3 students at Upper Nile University, and 7 students at Barh El Ghazal University studying medicine.
Additionally, they support the activities of the Sisters of Charity of Jesus in Kerpi Community, contributing to health and education projects. They cooperate with the FR. DR. Lee Tae Seok Foundation Leprosy Clinic, operated by Chairman Kim Kee-Choon in Juba, dedicating themselves to medical services for patients and providing essential supplies.
The foundation also actively engages in humanitarian aid, including food and material assistance.
Charity Foundation for African Catholic Mission pledges to continue its commitment to scholarship and medical projects, following the spiritual example of Jesus Christ by serving with humility and always standing with the poor and needy.
