The Northern Bahr El Ghazel State Transitional Legislative Assembly on Tuesday faulted some members who had petitioned Governor Tong Akeen Ngor to release their medical insurance.

Garang Kuol Mabior, the Chairperson for Information, Communication and Postal Services Committee in the State assembly, said the petition did not follow right procedures and also violates the conduct of business regulation.

“In regard to the petition, presented by a few honorable members, the medical insurance is entitled to only members who are sick and should present or submit their referral document to the administration for consideration in order to go for medical treatment,” said Mabior in  an interview with The Dawn.

“As a spokesperson of the assembly, I tender a sincere apology for anxiety caused with the unproductive petition that few honorable members of Northern Bahr El Ghazel Transitional Legislative Assembly,” he added.

On April 12, 2024, some members of the State legislative assembly petitioned the Governor of Northern Barh El Ghazel State over recess allowances and medical insurance.

“Some of the petitioners are not members of Northern Bahr El Ghazel Transitional Legislative Assembly for example, Ayong Maduok including members who have been given permission and sick leave,” said Mabior.
