"We Dare where others fear"

The Governor of the Bank of South Sudan, Dr. James Alic Garang, received recognition from the House of Representatives of South Carolina, hailing him as a “distinguished economist.”
The lawmakers announced Garang as a recipient of the top 25 African Finance leaders of 2024.
Garang is “renowned for his expertise in development economics, macroeconomics and environmental economics,” they said.
Likewise, the African Leadership Organization also commended him citing his “outstanding achievements and contributions to the socio-economic development of South Sudan and Africa by extension.”
It didn’t end there. In response, social media picked it up with applause after applause, including from notable South Sudanese.
“Hats off Dr.@Alic Bank Governor for this certificate of award that comes as a result of your hard work,” Salva Kuol Garang responded to the recognition on a WhatsApp group.
“American people don’t give an appreciation out of the blue; they do it after they had made a research about the receiver,” he said.
“This is a good new to the government and the people of South Sudan under the administration of President Salva Kiir Mayardit.”
Well-deserved recognition; congratulations Dr. James. Wish you more success in your endeavours!” Akol Garang Wol also said on the WhatsApp group.
Dr Fadhol also responded, “Congratulations Dr. Alic on your recent achievement! I am thrilled to hear that your credentials are continuing to grow and expand.”
“Your dedication and hard work are truly admirable, and it’s inspiring to see you reaching new heights in your career,” he said.
“Wishing you continued success and fulfilment as you pursue your goals and contribute to your field where you strive to build economic of South Sudan. Keep up the fantastic work!”
And Agorong Awerbok described it as a “tremendous honor.”
“Congratulations Dr. James Alic Garang!” he said.
