MTN South Sudan announce campaign for fans to watch 2024 Summer Olympics

The Chief Executive Officer for MTN South Sudan, Monzer Ali on Wednesday announced that MTN will provide chance for fans of the national basketball team to watch their team play in the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympic Games.                                                       

“We believe in the capability of the national team, we are proudly announcing our MTN win campaign aiming mainly to support the federation, the Bright stars as they compete in 2024 Summer Olympic Games representing Africa,” said Ali during press conference held in Juba.                                        

 “Our primary objective of this campaign is to unite the fans behind the Bright stars, and raise awareness about the power of sport in fostering national unity,” he disclosed.

  Aru Ramadan, the Secretary General for South Sudan Basketball Federation, said the MTN South Sudan win campaign is very much appreciated by the basketball federation.                                                                             

MTN South Sudan will invest 100,000 U.S dollars to allow several fans to watch the games on giant public screens in selected venues around Juba and in the States, instead of facilitating a few fans to travel to Paris.

 “We are going to be present in 10 States broadcasting the games for free, some of the locations are confirmed and we will announce them, some places will be identified for fans to enjoy, we want 11 million people to cheer the national team,” Ali said.

The Bright Stars qualified for the Paris Olympic Games after defeating Angola in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, achieving the biggest win in the country’s basketball history.

The 2024 Summer Olympics, will take place from 26 July to 11 August this year.
