"We Dare where others fear"

The government has set a deadline of November for the completion of phase one of the Nimule dry port in Eastern Equatoria State.
Dr. James Wani Igga, Vice President for Economic Cluster disclosed last week while launching the construction of the dry port that the mega project will provide employment and investment opportunities to local communities.
“There are going to be benefits and that is why I have come, if there were no benefits to local South Sudanese, I would not have come,” Wani said during the groundbreaking ceremony held in Nimule.
The project is being undertaken by B-Smark, a Malaysian company.
For his, Mirzan Mahathir, the President of B-Smart Company said the facility will enhance trade in the region.
“We are working to complete the project by middle of November this year, adding that B-Smart Company has invested about 25 million U.S dollars for the first phase.
“One we start, we will know what is required in the second phase, we will become catalysts in order to have more trade coming soon,” Mahathir said.
Dr. Dhieu Mathok, the minister for investment said more infrastructural projects are in the pipeline.
“The project is going to create a lot of job opportunities and there are other projects coming. We have a lot of investors who are willing to come and invest in this country, especially in Eastern Equatoria State,” Mathok said.
He said the government will utilize its natural resources for the benefit of the people of South Sudan.
“These resources which are given to us by God, we must have to utilize them and we must have to work responsibly such that we realize development,” Mathok said.
B-Smart Company is implementing the project in partnership with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Investment and the National Revenue Authority. The entire project is set be complete in May 2025.
