Ethiopia-South Sudan trade exhibition opens in Juba

The first Ethiopia-South Sudan trade exhibition opened on Monday in Juba aiming to bolster trade and economic ties between the two neighboring countries.

The first Ethiopia-South Sudan trade exhibition opened on Monday in Juba aiming to bolster trade and economic ties between the two neighboring countries.

The two-day event will see both Ethiopian and South Sudan products on display.

Nebil Mahdi Abdullahi, the Ethiopian Ambassador to South Sudan said the trade exhibition will strengthen economic ties between the two nations.

“It is part of the Ethiopia and South Sudan business and investment forum, this trade exhibition will enhance business and economic relations between South Sudan and Ethiopia,” Mahdi said.

Mahdi added that the trade expo will also foster stronger business and investment partnerships between Ethiopian and South Sudanese business people.

“Ethiopia and South Sudan enjoy strong bilateral relations and currently Ethiopia and South Sudan are focusing on economic diplomacy, especially on economic relations mainly on infrastructural development,” he disclosed.

For his part, Dr. Dhieu Mathok the minister of investment said the exhibition will provide opportunities for Ethiopians and South Sudanese to exchange views and share experiences.

“I have been to Ethiopia many times and I have seen how they grow, Ethiopia is one of the fastest economies in the region and we need to bring their experience to South Sudan,” Mathok said.

He added that the trade exhibition will open doors to enhance friendship and cooperation based on mutual interest of the two peoples of the two countries.
