MTN South Sudan launched on Monday the start of four weeks of yellow care campaign that will see the telecom company renovating some community schools in Juba.
“With yellow care, we aim to make meaningful contribution to the community and to the society. Over the next four weeks, our MTN staff will volunteer to engage with students, improving sanitation and also renovating some of the classrooms,” said Ali Monzer, the Chief Executive Officer for MTN South Sudan during a ceremony held at Moru Community Primary School located in Nyakuron West in Juba.
The 2024 edition of Yellow Care was launched under the theme, “Learn today, lead tomorrow; education for rural and remote communities”.
Monzer said the Yellow Care 2024 edition brings MTN South Sudan staff together to deliver services including education to the community and to the people in places where MTN South Sudan operates.
“We are here today to give back to our communities, we are here today to improve the education environment for our students, to motivate them to stay in class to pursue their dream so that they can have bright future,” he said.
George Kudu, the Chairperson for the Board of Directors of Moru Community Primary School, said that the number of learners in the school has grown leading to limited learning space since it’s establishment in 2016.
“We have challenges, we have the issue of class rooms, we have only 8 classrooms and they are not enough to accommodate all pupils, we teach some students in a nearby church but when the church has programs there is no teaching,” said Kudu.

Moses Mayor, the Head of Corporate Affairs for MTN South Sudan, said the Yellow Care campaign aims to ensure learners pursue their education so that they become the leaders of tomorrow.
“MTN South Sudan came up with Yellow Care to support others, and it was from humble beginnings. We hope to see future leaders and we hope learners will become great leaders in the future,” said Mayor.
