"We Dare where others fear"
Many South Sudanese have stereotypes when it comes to donating blood to those in urgent need of it.
Compared to countries in the region, the level of blood donation remains very low as
According to Dr. Lul Lojok Deng, the Director General of the Public Health Laboratory, the country needs 120,000 units of blood annually to save people in critical conditions who require blood.
He said that they have not yet come close to realize this amount of blood, meaning many people are dying of preventable deaths due to scarcity of blood.
Every South Sudanese should take blood donation as not only a patriotic act but also an act of humanity, because all of us have a relative somewhere who is or may be in need of blood.
Remember there are different groups of blood, and in most families the blood groups differ.
We ask the public not to ignore blood donation because it is a noble thing to do to save not only relatives, but the community each of us lives in.
