"We Dare where others fear"

Top officials from the Bank of South Sudan on Saturday paid visit to the construction site of the new headquarter in Khor Williang suburb of Juba, where they got impressed with the work being done by the contractor Shandong Hi-Speed Co. Ltd (SDHS).
The 12 –floor building is expected to be completed by the end of June as agreed by both parties.
James Alic Garang, the Governor of the Bank of South Sudan commended Shandong Hi-Speed Co. Ltd for the positive progress made on the building that is expected to transform not only the financial sector of the country, but also the aerial outlook of Juba, the capital.
“We are very happy with what we have just seen, each time I come here my hopes are raised, and our hopes are raised as the institution entrusted to deliver on this landmark, we are thankful to Shandong Hi-Speed Co. Ltd for what they are doing and for all the people that are involved to deliver on this project,” he told journalists during the inspection of the site.
Samuel Yanga, the First Deputy Governor of the Bank of South Sudan thanked the entire administration of the Central Bank for exerting effort in ensuring work on the project progresses on time.
Howver, he cautioned the Chinese company to speed up the remaining work to meet the deadline.
“I would like to appreciate the effort that the whole administration is putting in place to make sure that this project is delivered on time, and I think we have witnessed that it is going on, but I still stress that Shandong Hi-Speed Co. Ltd should speed up the work of course not compromising the quality,” said Yanga.
Yanga noted that the new headquarter is very important landmark in the country that should be completed on time.
David Manyuon Nak, Director General for Administration in the Bank of South Sudan, said they have committed to be visiting twice the construction site on weekly basis to monitor the work of the contractor.
“Our visit today, has proven that Shandong Hi-Speed Co. Ltd that is constructing the headquarter is progressing well and moving forward. We will be paying frequent visits possibly twice a week,” said Manyuon.

The Bank of South Sudan contracted Chinese firm Shandong Hi-Speed Group Co. Ltd (SDHS) to build the new headquarters. The construction commenced in February 2022.
Scott Xu, the general manager of Shandong Hi-Speed Co. Ltd, said that they are mobilizing every necessary resource to ensure the work is completed on deadline.
He disclosed that they are employing about 700 people on the ground to ensure the work speeds up.
