Officials colluding with investors to acquire school lands, public play grounds should be punished

The clandestine land deals that are involving State officials and shadowy investors have not spared school lands and public grounds.

The latest scandal is the alleged sell off the land hosting Supiri Secondary School by officials in the Central Equatoria State Ministry of General Education and Instruction.

Despite denials by particularly the State Minister Cirisio Zakaria Lado, that the land of Supiri Secondary School remains intact, the strong accusation leveled at Zakaria and his juniors by the National Minister of General Education and Instruction, Awut Deng Acuil raises the stakes and could end up in the courts as the whistle blower said.

The sale of school lands and public grounds is scandalous and demonstrates the greed for money that is eating away our social fabric in this country.

Most of the public playgrounds around Juba have been sold to the highest bidder, and yet we all need these public spaces for entertainment, sports and social meetings.

The existing green playgrounds in Juba will soon be full of concrete houses built with corrupt money, leaving us with no more green zones.

Cities all over the world maintain public parks and other social amenities that help to improve the quality of life. Juba is not an exception and the vampires scheming to take over all the green spaces should be resisted.
