"We Dare where others fear"
Ever since President Salva Kiir Mayardit appointed Dr. James Alic Garang to head the Bank of South Sudan, under his management the central bank has spread tentacles nearly across the entire country.
From opening branches in Aweil,Yei and Nimule and a training institute for banking and finance in Wau and now a groundbreaking ceremony for the branch in Kuajok town of Warrap State, Garang’s leadership is being felt in terms of concrete results unlike his predecessors.
The people in the cattle camps are receiving an awakening on financial services that they would not have appreciated at this time.
The vision of spreading branches of the central bank will help stimulate local production and cross border trade which is the only way for South Sudan to wean itself off oil revenues.
Farmers, local traders in the hard to reach states will soon see their economic fortunes change due to this policy of the central bank.
Financial literacy and management are some of the other key things the central appears to be concerned with, and soon results will be there for all to see.
