MTN hands over new classroom to St.Paul Primary school

MTN South Sudan on Wednesday handed over a classroom stream to St.Paul Adult and Primary School located in Nyakuron South suburb of Juba.

MTN South Sudan on Wednesday handed over a classroom stream to St.Paul Adult and Primary School located in Nyakuron South suburb of Juba. 

 Monzer Ali, the Chief Executive Officer for MTN South Sudan, said education is the cornerstone of a bright future for South Sudanese children.  

 He disclosed that the handover of the classroom that will accommodate over 290 pupils is a testament of MTN’s commitment to supporting the community in which they work in.

Ali noted that this in-kind support from MTN will foster the dreams of the young children.            

 “We as MTN South Sudan strongly believe that education is a cornerstone of a brighter future, as we hand over the new classroom, we are investing in the future leaders and investing in future innovators,” he said.

“We are here to give you a space where dreams will be achieved, where talents and aspirations will be built,” Ali added.     

Mabur Tur, the Director General for Alternative Education in the National Ministry of General Education and Instruction, reaffirmed their commitment to delivering quality education for young learners in the country.     

 “Our vision is that we have to provide quality education for all, we appreciate MTN for the services it has been providing to our people, our challenge is in creating more space for our learners,” said Tur.

John Alu, a resident of Nyakuron South appreciated MTN for it’s effort in providing additional learning space for learners in his community.

Moses Mayor, the Chief of Corporate Affairs Officer for MTN South Sudan, said the project to renovate and build the classroom is part of MTN’s social corporate responsibility to support vulnerable communities in the country.

 “We have quite a good number of pupils whose life will be impacted by these classroom being handed over today,” said Mayor.
