Community policing is the glue that keeps the police tick

The South Sudan National Police Services has long neglected community policing and this has resulted into the persistent high rate of crime in Juba and other surrounding areas.

This means that the law and justice sector of this country is struggling to resolve mysterious murders and other crimes, which could have been prevented and resolved if the police takes up community policing.

Community policing is what makes the police force all over the world effective in it’s duties.

To make community policing work involves closer collaboration and building trust and confidence in the public. Police cannot investigate crime and carry out successful arrests without tips from the community it serves and lives in.

The current police top leadership needs to find ways of incorporating and strengthening community policing standards if the police is to be efficient and effective in it’s duties.

The police cannot fight crime and offenses without hobnobbing with the general public.
