On independence eve, Archbishop Badi hails President Kiir for ushering in peace

The metropolitan bishop of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan, Justin Badi Arama on Monday praised President Salva Kiir for ushering in peace across the country as South Sudanese celebrate the 13th independence anniversary on July 9.

The metropolitan bishop of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan, Justin Badi Arama on Monday praised President Salva Kiir for ushering in peace across the country as South Sudanese celebrate the 13th independence anniversary on July 9.

“We congratulate our president Salva Kiir Mayardit for carefully driving us on all the rough road to reach this far, despite all these challenges, let us rejoice  with thanks to God for the 13th anniversary of our independence,” said Badi in a statement issued in Juba.

“As we celebrate this day, let us remember the sacrifices, courage and determination made by our heroes and heroine who fought for our freedom and honor them by praying and striving for peace and unity of our people,” he added.

Badi said South Sudanese need to work together to overcome both political and tribal conflict in the country, adding that there is need for the people to remain untied and keep the country a better place for all people.

“May the sacrifices of the freedom fighters remind us to always overcome our political and tribal differences as we unite and work to make south Sudan a better place for all,” he said.
