President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Tuesday called on all citizens to unite for the common good.

In a statement posted on the presidential Facebook page, President Kiir hosted a dinner at the Government Secretariat to mark the country’s 13th independence anniversary, expressing his gratitude to the friends of South Sudan for their support during, and after the liberation struggle.

He reaffirmed his dedication to a brighter future for South Sudan. 

President Kiir stressed the importance of working towards peaceful co-existence and reiterated his commitment to ensuring peace and stability in the country. 

The President used the occasion to urge the Sudanese warring factions to accept dialogue and negotiations for peace to prevail in Sudan. 

The event was attended by government officials, diplomats, and members of the public, all coming together to commemorate this significant moment in the nation’s history.
