"We Dare where others fear"
President Salva Kiir, while inaugurating the new headquarters of the Bank of South Sudan on Monday urged officials and citizens to focus on improving economic growth and promoting peace and social harmony in the country.
This message from the head of State should be emulated by everyone in this country, especially at this moment when the country prepares for it’s first-ever democratic elections.
Hundreds of citizens have been killed in inter-communal violence, and others by armed rebel groups that have refused to join the ongoing peace process.
Kiir’s message goes to all South Sudanese including those who disagree with him politically and ideologically. This country needs unity and social harmony if development, stable peace and security are to be realized.
South Sudanese need to support the government in it’s bid to resuscitate economic growth, and also ensure security for all individuals and their properties.
The upcoming elections could either unite the people of South Sudan or further divide them along political constituencies, but it’s better to have elections than none.
This country needs to pull in one direction if it’s to fulfill it’s huge potential in the region.
