"We Dare where others fear"

The international Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has received praise from the transitional unity government for it’s provision of humanitarian services to the most vulnerable population across the country.
Amb. Monday Semaya Kumba, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation last week commended the ICRC’s support in especially the health sector during a meeting in Juba with Florence Gillette, the head of delegation of ICRC.
He urged the ICRC to continue providing medical services to the Giada military hospital in order to reach out to more needy South Sudanese.
For her part, the head of delegation of ICRC Florence Gillette said her meeting with the minister was aimed at exchanging views on the prevailing humanitarian situation and also the humanitarian needs of people fleeing the ongoing conflict in Sudan.
She also stressed the importance of observing international humanitarian law according to it’s humanitarian principles.
South Sudan is currently hosting more than 600,000 returnees including Sudanese refugees who have fled fighting between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) since April 2023.
