The Commissioner of Juba County Emmanuel Tete Ezbon has started the crackdown on street vendors following a local order issued recently ordering them to vacate busy roads.

“We have issued local order banning street vending and we have informed chiefs, traders and all our citizens, we are implementing the local order. The main roads are not for traders,” said Ezbon on Tuesday during eviction exercise in Kuburi-Haboba area of Gudele in Juba.

Ezbon revealed that the ban includes those washing vehicles along the main roads, adding that ban aims to decongest traffic and maintain cleanliness.

“We have markets open for traders, the local order is not only affecting people in Kuburi Haboba area, we are also targeting businesses on the road to Mangala, Gumbo, Juba and even along Juba- Bor road,” he said.
